Hughes Foundation began a partnership with our friends in Namibia in 2006. In less than five years, Jerry has brought his message of hope to millions of homes through print and broadcast media, and public speaking appearances.

Accomplishments in Namibia include the following:

• Began partnership with Ministry of Health to develop local HIV/AIDS prevention education through Jerry’s story

• Built relationships with staff at the Dolam House, an AIDS orphanage, which is one of our partners that we are financially committed to for their continued work and support for children

• Established a significant media presence throughout all of South Africa, Namibia and surrounding countries with the help of One Africa Television and Namibian Broadcasting Network

• Received 1 million radio impressions through stations such as Channel 7, Radio FM 99, Base FM 106.2, Kosmos Radio FM 94, Ecclesia Radio.

Our future initiatives in Namibia are:

• Develop HIV/AIDS education materials in partnership with the Ministry of Health in Namibia that will be used throughout Africa

• Begin regular television broadcasts on One Africa Television to bring HIV/AIDS Education and hope to millions throughout Africa

• Produce a DVD for HIV/AIDS education and encourage throughout schools, religious communities, orphanages and within the government, which will be translated into various dialects

• Begin a stronger relationship with our Dolam House by providing education, health care and food to the children orphaned because of AIDS
